The first day of school went off like a hit for the kids. Kaetlynn and Dylan love their teachers! Brian enjoyed not staying in the same class all day long. He is liking playing the trumpet so far.

Darn..out of order but what do you expect from my blog right? This is part 2 of the broken arm. This is the end result. He wanted an orange cast because that is his favorite color.

The pins possibly will come out next wednesday...he however does not know this. They are going to take his cast off and take xrays without the cast and decide how to proceed from there. I am so nervous because they will not give him a local or anything so that it wont hurt but I am thinking that the skin is kind of growing around the pins right?! Besides they are taking it out of the bone! Oh man...and i had joked with Randy that I was going to make the appointment when he was home..well jokes on me this time because he is actually working M-F next week. It was pretty neat to see the new xray and how the new bone is starting to grow!

We headed to Salt Lake for Randy's yearly check up on August 16th. It has been 12 years since his Kidney transplant. He had this kidney transplant a week before we were married. We celebrated our 12th Anniversary this with Dylan braking his arm. So we did leave the kids for about and hour and went and had a bite to eat but Dylan was in so much pain that we we decided that we couldn't really do much. It has been 12 years and I love my husband so much...it hasn't always been easy but have learned from our mistakes and we have a strong relationship. It is so awesome to be married to such a wonderful husband who is so supportive.

So back to SLC....On the way just outside of mountain home was a huge fire! you could see the flames although by the time i could get a picture and being in a moving car you couldn't see the flames. We stayed at a Motel which the kids love to do and think it is so exciting. We got up, had their Continental breakfast and headed to the University for his appointment, which went pretty well. There was a few changes in medication but nothing to the extreme. We then decided to go to the Hogal Zoo which was pretty fun and we spent about 1 1/2 there. We then headed to red robin for lunch. now I know why I would rather eat at home and save money to spend on something else. Taking 7 people to red robin gets a little spendy and the fact that my 11 year is to big to eat off of any kids meal anymore his lunch was the same as ours. Kinda crazy. We had a good time we didn't spend to much time there but it was fun.

when I was growing up I always looked forward to the elephants! I think the Boise zoo should have elephants!
These are elephant bones, it was fun to see the size of them compared to Brian and Kaetlynn

Oh yeah..Leah was throwing an enormous fit here.
I loved that at the Hogal zoo you can get so close to the Giraffe's!

I guess everyone was kinda grumpy from the car ride because I could never get them all in one picture without one of them throwing a fit.

This is one week after Dylan breaking his arm...there was still to much swelling so we will have to wait another week for the hard cast. The red things you see poking out on both sides are the pins holding his elbow together. It actually broke right above the joint and then a piece of his joint broke off and was just floating around so to speak....He has done absolutely amazing...when this whole thing happened he didn't shed a tear! He was riding to the park and fell off his bike...there is no amazing story behind this, he just hit it just right. I took him to the hospital where they immediately gave him an IV and morphine. He just kept asking...are you going to fix my arm? Can you move I can't see the TV...besides waking up every few hours the first few nights because he was hurting he has done amazingly well.

I love you Dylan you are always in good spirits!

My dearest friends Kevin and Renee...They were so happy to take me just about everywhere that they could possibly think of. These two are more to me than friends, they are family and I miss them so much! Thank you Kevin and Renee for such a fabulous time!

My plane ride there was good..I sat by an elderly lady and read a book so I didn't have to chat for 3 hours! I was kinda worried that I would end up sitting next to someone who wouldn't be quiet. So for me to enjoy peace and quiet is really unheard of so I really enjoyed the plane ride.

The plane ride back made me a little sick..there was so much turbulence and it was dark. I had a little boy and his dad sit next to me and he was really a cute little boy and slept the whole way but ended up wetting his pants while sleeping and well that added to the sickness but all is well and I had a great time!

They were both so very kind to take me to see the temple, neither of them are members and were more than willing to take me there. It was beautiful! Not for certain but it sure looked smaller than the Boise temple.

These were so yummy and so pretty that I had to take a picture! They are shrimp wrapped in rice paper.
This is an ice cream shop inside the library!
Kevin drove us to Wisconsin for dinner one night..it is a 3 story restaurant on a deck looking out over the Hudson River. It was very different but fun and had a great view.

Am I driving all of you crazy with my out of order pictures..I guess thats what I get trying to blog with my kids asking me 5 million questions. This is actually inside their library! The weather is so humid during the summer and so cold they have to have places to go ....absolutely beautiful!
Candy...their black lab whom i was told is getting older and slowing down,,hmmm I have yet to believe it. I had her going pretty good.

Why not take a picture of this building....LOL!
This glove was pretty cool but oh so "HOT" it was burning me through my shorts. I could not believe how stinkin hot it was there!

Part of down town...
so this was pretty funny the little girl in the back...we have no idea who she is LOL!
This is Kevin showing me the low down on how a radio station works...it pretty fasinating. He is a radio DJ for lite 102.9 in Minnesota!

Sculpture garden again...each of these benches has some sort of quote on them.
Oh yes here is more of the sculpture garden..

The Cherry Spoon...it was actually raining and Kevin was trying to figure out the camera!
Jeeze...oh well..out of order is good right? This picture is a fish made out of glass at the sculpture garden.
I thought that this picture turned out pretty good while driving down the road....
Kevin is big into horse racing and took us there to show us the ropes, it was pretty fun to see the horses run so fast and they really are gorgeous horses. this is about as close as we came to a horse. LOL!
This is looking out from one of the balconies...it really was interesting and fun
This is the outside of the horse racing arena i guess you could call it. This place is huge!
